Common channel

Hi--How is it decided how long the common channel will be?

Some docs have a standard length they prefer.  You can negotiate with some over length.  Present a good case for why it should be X and maybe they will agree with you.  Then some docs use the Hess Method and measure the the whole small bowel and the CC is X%.

No matter what method is used, it's not precise.  Intestines are motile and it's a bit like measuring an earthworm.
