Congratulations!! Yay! Ur soon to be on the DarkSide.

Id say the travel really depends. I know u will probably have a 2 week postop check up with dr. greenbaum. I still had my drain in at 2 weeks. (had complications, drain was in for 6 weeks for me). Also u maybe or maybe not feel up to it.I could barely stand up straight still at 2 weeks, and was really weak cause I could barely get any nutrients in me.

If you do please make sure u have what u need with u in terms of ur diet. At two weeks out you wont be able to eat what everyone else is.

It is really a YMMV (your mileage may vary) type thing.  At two weeks I was so sick I could barely make it through the days.  I couldn't sleep, couldn't get enough fluids, felt like I'd been run over by a truck.  I've heard of other people going back to work at two weeks.  You will just have to see how YOU are feeling.

Congratulations!  I know you are so excited - heck, I'm excited for you!  My birthday is the 31st of March and prior to Dr G's surgery I said the same thing, if they scheduled my surgery on my birthday I wouldn't even care!  lol

I have a question for you:  When did your paperwork get submitted to your insurer and how long did it take for them to approve?  Mines were submitted last Friday and I know they can take up to 45 days to approve.  I'm a nervous wreck!

Your a Easter Birthday this year :) It took about 8 days I have BCBS and called the insurance co about a week after Tina submitted it and they told me it had been approved and I received the letter about a week after that. I would give your insurnace a call on Friday or Monday and just see if there has been any decision made. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I was still very listless and uncomfortable 2 weeks post op, so I wouldn't recommend it.  Now, you can always call and reschedule your surgery date for after the event if you really want to go and actually go with purpose.
