post-op update
hey all...just a little drop by....i've been so out of it since surgery 1/24/13. They re admitted me on 1/29/13. I am nauseaous to no end. I am going back in for CT scan of upper GI....thank god. I want to find out what the hell is going on. The esophageal spasms are better.....therre were times in which it felt as though a worm would be dancing at the back f my throat...honest to god....and it just sounds lke passing gas from my throat.
They may possibly put a peg tube in me...wonderful huh? Good thing I am a nurse that I know how to take care of it and it does not freak me out.....I will try to post more later when we get some answers. Thank you friends and fellow OH posters....you guys have gotten me through alot
Hopefully you'll soon be able to look on this as a bump in the road to success.

Yup I kinda figured it was Esophageal Spasms after you texted me. That is exactly what I got after my Band surgery. They gave me a barium swallow to diagnose it. They really do not know what causes it only that it can be associated with GERD but it is very uncommon. I really think mine are caused from stress. To this day I cannot eat very well in stressful situations or my throat tightens up and I get both kinds of ES. One is called diffuse and the other Nutcracker or something like that. It can either tighten on my food and scrape my throat while it goes down which really hurts or it can cause me to vomit like crazy after just a few bites etc. Twice I got dehydrated from it. My family do not talk to me while I eat because just talking to me while I eat can cause me to have this. SUCKS! I hope it gets better for you sweetie pie.
Possibly you will have this issue for awhile. I still do, six years after the band. I had to learn to de-stress before each meal and make people leave me alone and eat in peace. Also drinking something warm before I eat helps relax my throat a little. I make a bad dinner date that is for sure. LOL.
The G-tube thing sucks =/ but yeah as a nurse it is less freaky and a good thing you know how to handle it. I bet its a trip to check placement on yourself. =)
I hope they find out what is wrong and soon!
Wishing you luck, Lizzi. Looks like we have something else in common. My sista from another mother! lol
