Need your help. I am now 5 days post op. I need to call the surgeons office and talk to someone....there is something wrong. Its not the intestinal to colon portion. I pooped yesterday for the first time...I must say I am relieved. Anyways, It is the part from mouth to stomach....feels like when I was unable to swallow my saliva from the band...like it is a complete stop. Anyone else ever have this? My esophageal spasms seem to have quieted down a bit.  Please pray that I catch a break here.....I just want to be able to lay down and sleep

If you are getting sick and not able to drink water, call your surgeon for sure. If it gets any worse go to the ER.  Keep us posted.

It is very easy to become dehydrated early out, and once that happens it causes nausea, which only makes things worse. If you can't reach your surgeon fast, just go to the ER and get a liter or 2 of IV fluid into you. You will feel so much better.

Hmm, if this is only after you eat, then it's probably just that you ate too fast.  I still get something like that when I enjoy french fries too quickly.  If it's ongoing, then you're right, there's definitely a problem.

Either way - call the doc.

Hope you feel better soon! However its better to always call the doc or go to the emergency room if you are not feeling well, atleast they will be able to check you out to see what's going on.  Keep us posted.

First -- CALL!

No advice, but if you cannot get your water in this is very serious and you need to get in touch with your doctor. My doctor said the first week out is when the tummy is the most swollen so anything more than a sip (by sip, I mean 1 teaspoon or less). My doctor sent me home from the hosp. with a 2mg script for valium to help with more severe esophageal spasms.

I hope you feel better soon!
