I am still here in the hospital but doing much better. Advanced to cl liquid diet...I cannot believe how everything just does not appeal to me. So , I am not going to lie...there have been times in which the words "What the hell did I do to myself???" go through my brain and across my lips.

I have air pockets in my belly and chest so just to burp its like ecstacy! Some of the nursing is much to be desired....probably doesn't help that I am one.

Cherry Jello stays down real well. They did do a ct scan on my abd and chest....no disruption at all...I may have posted this alredy but the last four days have been completely clouded over me. Please, vets, please.....will  this nnausea go  awayy?

YES - stay hydrated.  Being a nurse, you understand the importance.  It's going to be a full-time job and it's going to suck, but push yourself through it.

Hang in there, it WILL get better.  Keep walking as it helps to get rid of the air.  ((Hugs))

As I am waiting for my approval from the insurance company, this is scaring me...........but remaining with this weight on me is even worse.  Hang in there and I hope you are feeling better soon.  Thanks for the post because I really need to know what to expect.

I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm just starting to be able to get 2-3 bites of solid food.  Creamed soups, greek yogurt and protein shakes are still too heavy for me.  I have been dehydrated quite a bit.  Had to get IV's 3 times so far.  But I am still nauseous EVERY WAKING MINUTE.  Regular yogurt and water has been my friend.  I am told it will get better, and I know I did the right thing, but I can't wait for the nauseousness to go away.  I have, however, lost 51 lbs in almost 5 weeks!  We can pray together that this will get better.  Walk around a lot to get those air bubbles out.

What is a PPI?  I'm on Omoprazole once a day, but my doctor appointment is this Thursday.  It's actually my first one post op, even though it will be 41 days.  He was too booked for a 2 week check up.  Maybe I will start taking it twice a day.  Thanks for the info.

I'm strongly considering the surgery. Love the great tales of results. Completely scared of the initial pain because I'm a whimp. On a scale of 1 - 10, how bad would you say it was at the worst, and how long was it like that?
