Does BCBS Federal cover a Revision for VSG to DS?
Hi Everyone,
I had a LB back in 2008. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I was Sleeved in 2009. I have had issues from the beginning - emotional eating. I am going to a new doctor for follow-up care and get some therapy for my eating issues to get resolved.
I have not made up my mind yet. If I will get another revision, but just incase. This will be my 2nd revision. Please no negative comments.
Does anyone know if BCBS Federal will cover the revision surgery from VSG to DS?
Thanks in advance for your response.
I know it covers revisions from band to DS. I don't see how they could be that specific in their criteria of which surgery they will cover revising to. The issue may be how many revisions they will cover but I hope that won't be a problem. Keep us posted and good luck.

You are not alone. We are just now beginning to see more people with inadequate results and/or significant regain with the sleeve. No matter how narrow they are constructed, they will stretch out eventually.
I don't know about your insurance, but I do know that you should read your policy for yourself, either online or on paper. You are entitled to know what your policy covers and what it doesn't. Keep in mind that there are many different policies all over the country with the same name, so you need the specifics of your policy, not just "BCBS".
