Dr. Lopez-a lighter me for DS?

Hello everyone,

I need advice.

I have been researching the WLS like crazy. I've decided to go with the DS. Has anyone used Dr. Lopez in Mexico??? If so, what are your thoughts? I am self-pay and he seems to be very reasonable.

Thanks,

Kim

The only vetted DS surggeon in Mexico is Ungson. Price is far less important than experience!

Never hear of him. Check out the surgeons on www.dsfacts.com to be safe. Dr Ungson's contact info is outdated. I'll find the right email addresses and post in a bit.

I agree with the others.  There are other surgeons in MX claiming to do the DS, but I've seen a few nightmares come out of Mexico trying to save a few bucks and they have trouble finding a surgeon in the US to fix the damage that was done, and no legal recourse, either.  We have the list on dsfacts.com for a collection of surgeons with plenty of experience under their belt enough to have a long line of happy patients.  To stray from the list is an act of faith, and while there are stringent guidelines for US docs to follow, such is NOT the same in MX, so I highly recommend you stick to Dr. Ungson, or look to Brazil to Dr. Marchenesi.  You cannot go wrong with either of them, and they have coordinators on staff to help you with all of the details, so no need to spend extra on a medical tourism service.

I AGREE TO A CERTAIN POINT. PLEASE RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH THE DOCTORS! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH DR. UNGSON....AFTER 4 MONTHS OF SURGERY, STILL PROBLEMS. 3 OF THOSE MONTHS WERE SPENT IN THE HOSPITAL. 2 OF THOSE IN THE HOSPITAL IN HERMOSILLO....1 OF THOSE MONTHS SPENT IN ICU....SUPER EXPENSIVE...IF THE HOSPITAL DIDNT GET THEIR MONEY EVERY 2 WEEKS, THEY WOULDNT TREAT OR CARE!!! BE CAREFUL WITH THE DS SWITCH....VERY DANGEROUS IN THE LONG RUN... THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS

Can you please elaborate on your experience with Dr. Ungson.  He's got a long line of very happy patients, however it cannot be perfect every time.  I see you've only had your OH account for a week with no back story to refer to, and it says that you didn't have wls at all, but are a friend of someone who has, so your post here does not make sense.

Okay then what about Dr. Aceves?

Dr. Aceves has more recently begun doing the DS. Last I knew, he was doing them with Dr. Ungson working with him, so either one would be a good alternative. As to how many Dr. Aveces has done thus far, I have no idea. You would need to ask.

But I would certainly recommend either one of them over anyone else in Mexico, hands down.

I cannot speak for anybody. I had my DS in Mexico with Dr Ponce everything went well. The hospital was great and the care was amazing. I had no complications. I was out of the hospital in 3 days
