Hi guys!  I'm 5 weeks out now so I figured I'd try to start posting on here.  I've already noticed that now that I feel pretty normal, I'm struggling with keeping it low-carb.  So hopefully this will keep me more accountable!

B-Egg, sausage, cream cheese, cheddar breakfast casserole

S-Handful of cashews

L-5 tortilla chips loaded with cheese and sour cream

D-Chicken chili with cheese and sour cream

S-Handful of cashews

S- got down about 1/2 a Muscle Milk (10g)

Still working on upping that protein and getting in all my vitamins.  I just started calcium, D, and multis from Vitalady.  Going to start working in more next week.

Ok, so I just registered to day to post.  I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and I'm not even close to this!  I can't keep anything down.  Way too nauseous all of the time.  Here is what a normal day is for me:

B-3 tsp light yogurt

L-3 tsp bacon, ranch and pea salad

D-few bites of taco meat with tomato

no snacks and sipping water all day, trying to feel hydrated.

vites:I take most of my vitamins, if I can keep them down that day.

exercise: I work full time and am a mom of 2.  I don't have energy besides that to do anything.

I can hardly eat this much as it is!  Is something wrong?  I actually haven't had a post op check up yet.  My Doc was over booked.  My first check up is next Thursday (2 week check up that is actually 41 day check up).

You can't drink protein shakes? That's how I got protein in in the early days. Also, concentrate on protein first and try some deviled eggs or soft cheese as snacks. You don't have to skip snacks or wait to drink your fluids away from snacks like other surgeries.

The only protein shake I have tried is Atkins and it was too heavy.  I was dry heaving for hours after just a few sips.  After reading this blog, I think I will stop tomorrow and get some powder and 2% milk and see if that is any better.  Great suggestion on the deviled eggs.  I LOVE those.  I haven't tried them since the surgery, so I will do that tonight.  Thanks for your update!

When you select a protein powder make sure the first ingredient is whey protein isolate. My favorites are Syntrax Nectar and JayRobb.
