Im just over 7 weeks postop and again have stalled for over a week, I know this is normal and is going to happen repeatedly throughout my journey. But how long is the average stall? Especially in the begining, it gets so frustrating when im trying to do everything perfect and still no change. I do have to note im not a virgin DSer, im revision from RNY. I know im harder on myself this time around.

Don't get discouraged! Even if your weight is stalling, I bet you are still losing inches! Inches are what counts, right??? I mean, you wanna look hot in your skinny jeans, right? I found that instead of just weighing myself, I tended to get less frustrated with the stalls when I would also measure myself. As long as I saw that something was happening and the inches were coming off, it didn't bother me as much that the weight wasn't coming off. By the way, stalls are temporary...keep doing what you need to do and eventually your body will start losing weight again. My average stall time was about 3-4 weeks. It doesn't seem like long now, but 4 weeks can feel like FOREVER if you are checking the scale everyday. Try not to weight too often and measure yourself. Hang in there..this stall will pass and you will be flying down that scale in no time! :)

Thanks I know ill get through this. I do havta do measurements, been procrastinating. I did that years ago when I lost 250 lbs on my own, it did help. I will say my jeans have seemed looser this last week. been trying to up my protein too.

I was always told a week is not a stall but a slow down...your body is just resting for another drop, esp in the first few months.

I slowed down several times but had a stall that lasted Sept 2011 to Feb 2012...Then I dropped another 12 lbs. I was also not losing inches during that time. However, I was at goal so had I stopped, I would have been fine.

I'm in what I would consider a MAJOR stall. 6ish weeks, haven't lost anything. Haven't gained either though so I guess that's good. It started a couple of weeks before Christmas, a couple of week before my 5 month "anniversary". I remember reading about a 5 month pause but holy cow!!!

In my first year, I measured myself every month, weighed almost every day but the only one I counted was the weekly and monthly ones...I knew day to day would fluctuate.

Second year, every three months but that was because I was already at goal. (I'm a lightweight). I still weigh once a week (or before a doctor's appt so I can check my scale against their's)

Even during that 5 month stall, I wasn't worried as I had reached normal BMI I was glad tho that I lost more as I wanted to go as low as I could to handle bounce back.

I had jaw surgery in Mar 2012, weighed 130 going into surgery, inside of 6 weeks, I actually saw 121...then I started eating almost normally again and the loss from that surgery came right back. But I have held 130-133 for almost a year now.
