Vitalady Iron - other options
I am 1 month out. I have tried to take these 3 times, using yogurt, protein drink or chicken as a foundation for taking those pills. Every time I get violently ill. Really bad.
Has this happened to you? What do you use to keep these down?
If I never get used to these, there are other ways to get iron, correct?

You should take iron 2 hours away from dairy and egg. You're wasting your time and money taking them with yogurt. I take my iron at bedtime.

I had to start out very slowly and take one capsule a day for a week, then add a second capsule the second week and so forth. You can take them with V8 juice (tomato based), some citrus fruit, or meat. Some folks just can't handle them and try Proferrin (heme iron), polysaccharide or an iron gluconate form of iron. Vitalady carries those options as well. If you need to trade your Tender for some Proferrin, send me a PM and we can work something out, I have an extra bottle of Proferrin.

Thanks for the info and your offer. I appreciate the options available.
I'll try to build up with a pill a day. I think that will work, since I don't seem to get violently ill till I have them all down.
And I didn't know about the dairy thing....
Flintstones really aren't a good idea. That advice has gone by the wayside years ago. They proved to be totally inadequate for 99.9% of us. In theory I guess it sounded good way back then. Much better and more effective vitamin plans out here now.

I cannot take the capsule form comfortably daily. About twice/month I'd get burp-back. If I took it with fruit or veggie, I'd be sure to eat 6-8 bites after to "bury it".
I switched back to the tablets. Means I take 12 plus vit C, BUT no burp-back, and the price is the same. The tabs are the original formula. The encapsulating may have made some minor difference that we have not figured yet.
My iron and ferritin are the stuff of dreams, so I keep doing what I've been doing and I'm sticking with the 12 tabs + C and I take my copper (matched to my own personal labs) with some fruit, all at the same sitting. Just right for a fruit or handful of berries, depends on the season
