question about red food dye

I have a question about red food dye, are we not supposed to take it?, The flavor powder I use has red #40 in it and I wasn't sure if after I have the surgery if I could keep using this or have to find a new drink?

Most docs don't want you to have it right after surgery because they want to know if a leak is blood or something else.  Usually the restriction is only a couple days pre and post surgery.

Thank you for some reason this is the only thing I can really drink after being in the hospital. :)

Food dyes are probably not GOOD for anyone, but it's no worse for you, as a post-op DSer, than it was for you as a pre-op. Relax---you're probably nearer to being 'normal' now than ever. (*grin*)
