I understand your frustration and I'm sorry. It can't hurt to talk to a good DS revision surgeon. Please keep us posted.

I didn't revise but I've been an angel to a few that did. Their experience varies. Most of the band to DS had a fairly easy time. RNY to DS had a little more difficult time but it also depends on how long their first surgery was in place. Lots of "your mileage may vary".

Hi Lee,
I had a revision from RNY (August 2005) to DS in April 2012 with Dr. Juarez in Phoenix, AZ. I had no complications and I'm doing and feeling great. I was able to go back to work 2 weeks after the surgery. I do lose weight slower that someone getting the DS without prior WLS though. I've lost 80 pounds so far. My friend had the DS done in December 2011 by the same surgeon and she is losing much faster (down 165 pounds), plus she is not able to eat as much as me.
The one problem I have is that I can eat A LOT more now that I have the sleeve then when I had a pouch. So I really need to watch what I'm eating...PROTIEN FIRST! I try to stay under 50 carbs a day. But being a food addict, I have fallen "off the wagon" several times since the DS, which resulted in not losing weight or even GAINING weight! I'm back on track now, hopefully for good, as I feel SO much better when I'm not eating carbs. When I was eating a lot of carbs, my stomach was so upset all the time and had to use the bathroom all throughout the day, almost not making it to the toilet a lot of the time.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding anything else with the RNY to DS revision to help with your decision. I would do it again in a second. No regrets.

Thanks for the reply KristicK
Let me ask you, since you have your DS now can you eat snacks and not gain as quickly as you did with the RNY? I heard that since you only absorb 20% you gain weight far less quickly.
Did you workout a lot in an effort to assist with your weight loss? Be honest if you didn't I am not judging I just need to know
How was the pain after your revision?
How is your hunger? Do you find that you are hungry a lot
Do you have ANY regrets at all?
Tell me about your vitamin regimen now, do you have to take a lot more vitamins?
Did your insurance pay for your revision, or did you self pay, if so how much was it?
Is it strange not to dump?
Do you feel like you have a different WLS idenity now that you are no longer a RNY?
Thanks for answering my questions, I need to be really sure of this.
