Give the Creon time to work, and make sure you take it with everything you eat, including shakes. *Never* give up supplementing with protein shakes. You may not have to do as many, but use some in addition to your food. I'm on Creon for life, because I don't want anyone talking to me about revision. I'll be four years out on 2/25. The shakes do not make me gain weight
I'm sure they told you that Creon might make you gain weight too, but it has not had that effect on me. A lot depends on how long your common channel is. Mine is 75 cm.
Try whey protein isolate. You can buy it plain (unflavored) or in a shake mix. Isopure and Syntrax Nectar are two brands. It comes unflavored as well, so you can add your own flavorings. Check your local health food store. They may sell it in bulk, which is a lot cheaper. I also order it by the 10# bag from luckyvitamin.com. You can also find it on eBay in large quantities, and in shake mixes as well.
Yes, it's reversible. Except for the sleeve but that should have stretched out by now anyway if you had the DS in 2005.
I hope you have tried everything else first. And it will take more than a month to evaluate the effectiveness of the creon. Low protein can usually be corrected without resorting to surgery and weight regain. Lots of people have been low on protein and fixed it with dietary changes or the addition of creon.
Is this Dr Greenbaum by any chance? He puts the scare on everyone once they start getting close to goal.
If you have real problems with your labs and you are a 17 BMI, then I would consider it valid but otherwise, take your vitamins and drink your protein and eat protein rich foods and let your body decide where to stop. Bounce back is real and you want some wiggle room.

I had the DS in Oct 2012......I was a revision from lapband. He told me to come back in one month to follow up and see how I am doing on the Creon and increase my protein. He said if not than he would do in intravenous input of nutrients and surgery is the last resort. I just havent been able to really eat and when I do I am very nauseous.
