Does anyone else think they are eating more than they are supposed to?

I want to thank everyone who helped me with my last post.  I am three months out. I went from 323 to 252.  So I am happy with my result so for.  But the problem is, I feel that I can still eat more than a fist full of food.  I don't eat nearly the quantity use to.  But I do feel like I can probably double or triple what I should.  . Thanks for all your help

I know I can eat more than a fist full of food!  But seriously, that's the beauty of the DS.  Quantity doesn't matter too much.  It's WHAT you eat that matters.  16oz T-bone wonderful!  You will lose weight.  16oz of pasta, just say no!  You will gain weight.  Don't worry too much about quantity as long as it's protein and or fat.  Just say no to carbs till you reach your goal.

I am just about three months out also (or will be on February 7).  In the last week, I've noticed that I'm able to drink more and eat more.  And it scares the heck out of me.  At first it was a couple bites, and I was full - and I didn't care if I ate.  Now, I can finish what I consider a "normal" portion of food.  Today, I had an egg with a slice of cheese and two morningstar farms veggie sausage patties for breakfast, for lunch I ate one of them foil packs of tuna and a serving of nut thins, and then for dinner I had a morningstar farms black bean burger topped with cheese, sour cream and salsa, and an individual broccoli with cheese sauce.  That seems like a lot of food to me, considering just a few weeks back I could only eat half of the meat/cheese in a lunchable in one sitting.  I find I'm now worried that I'm eating too much and I'm going to stop losing and fail at this.  Ohhhh, some days my mind is a terrible place to be!!!

I'm down 71 pounds - and I don't weigh in again until Monday - so I'm worried I'm going to step on the scale and not lose anything or worse, gain weight.  And all because I think I'm eating too much.

Big sigh!!!

What do you consume in a normal day - maybe we're both more normal than we think :)

It's a normal progression and nothing to fear!  For breakfast this morning, I had 1 high protein piece of toast (with lots of butter), 3 eggs (fried with lots of butter!), & 3 pieces of bacon.  For lunch, I had the new Jimmy John's "unwhich" - all the fixings of a sub, except wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of bread (no bread at all).  I had a banana.  For dinner, I'm having about 2 cups full of homemade turkey vegetable soup.  When I get home, I will probably eat some more :)

The only reason I'm 10 pounds heavier than where I would like to be (I'm now at a 10 - 12) is because I eat chocolate every day.  I know what to do if I want to lose that.  Point being, we can eat quite a lot of food and not worry too much about our weight so long as it's primarily protein, fat, and veggies.  You can (& likely will) eat more carbs once you're at goal.

Some days I can put away more food than should be possible other days not enough.

I have been know to eat a large steak easily (time elapsed to be an hour) but yet sometimes I can not even finish crackers and cheese it all depends on my tummy and I think my protein need that day.

Don't  stress  about the *quantity* you're eating.  With the DS, Your body takes care of that for you.  You only need to feel miserably full once or twice to learn your lesson. Be more concerned about eating food with the highest nutritional value possible, especially protein.  Learn to be a label reader when you shop.  Three things I always look for on the nutriton label

1) PROTEIN grams    2) Carbohydrate grams   3)Sugar content ( ingredient list) .

If an ingredient is among the first five in a product, then the product likely contains a very high quantity of that ingredient. A rule that I set for myself is that if a food has less than 7 grams orf protein, it's not worth eating, IMHO.
