The scary part is that I've never heard of Dr. Belnap being a DS surgeon let alone a Revision DS surgeon.  These talents are rare, and I'm wondering if you didn't get some kind of hybrid?  It's a shame that you weren't better prepared on how to maximize it and keep healthy, too.  Nonetheless, I'm glad you found us.

Thank you for your replies. Dr. Belnap is the surgeon that other surgeons refer to when they mess up on their surgeries.  He is very specialized and concentrates on liver and kidney transplants....and hitial hernia repairs.....after a 2x screw up.  I did have the duodenum switch or revision but as I said before, I wish I hadn't.  For some crazy reason and I am sure it is because I am not thinking with a clear head these days...i don't want to go to him and tell him I am having such difficulties.  I cannot explain how embarrassed I am that I might be failing at this surgery.   I am going to take all of your advice and really focus on the protein drinks.  It is not about will power here as I have been on the liquid diet three times in order to have the surgeries.  However, it is carbs that I crave which is strange as I have never been a carb person....mayo....fat.....yes.....carbs no....but now they are what I want and what seems to settle my stomach.  Okay....if I am going to be totally honest as well.....diet coke....have not been able to kick. I know I need to but it is my vise.  Please keep posting suggestions as I am taking them all to heart and they are very appreciated.  Plus could someone tell me how to get the tape measure...I really like that concept.

Can you type here EXACTLY what your operative report says??  I am curious about your revision to DS.......... Please elaborate with your operative report says.

You can get your operative report from the medical records department at the hospital where you had your gastric bypass revised to a DS.

This will help all of us LOTS to help YOU!!!!

Is it possible that you're RNY was revised to a distal?? And maybe the DI was an abbreviation somewhere for distal bypass? That would make more sense based on the surgery and the surgeon.

While you've gotten some great advice here but there is still some confusion, and having a clear understanding of what your configuration is could make a real difference in what your needs are.

Like Jaime said above, seeing what the surgical report says would clear it up, and there are people here that I'm certain they can help you if they have a clear understanding of what is going on.
