Just a Plateau?

Hello,

I had my DS surgery back in May 2012, so I'm right at about 8mo out.  I feel awesome and am not complaining at all of where I'm at, but the weight has consistently been coming off until the last three weeks.

Some stats:  SW: 434lbs , CW: 299lbs -- so 135lbs lost.

I've heard you can have stalls at certain stages, but didn't know if 8mos later was a stall or if I was done losing.  I've been bouncing between 299 to 302 for the last three weeks.  My protein, water, and vitamin intake has remained consistent so I'm not sure what could be causing it.  Is it just a phase and will pick back up again?

Thanks,

J

Every one is different, but every one has stalls. Your's apparently came at 8 month out, it probably won't be the last.

As long as you are sure you are really getting enough protein, which should be between 100-150g a day, and you are eating low carb, you should be good.

Hi!! I had a lot of stalls along the way. I began at 240 and stopped at 150 for about two years. Then all the sudden lost 25 pounds and have now been at 125 for a few months over a year! So i think stalls are perfectly normal!!

By the way, contracts on an amazing loss so far!!!

I would try to shake things up a bit i.e do high carb for one day and then come back with a few days of really high protein and more water before going back to your normal regimen.   Also, are you weighing and tracking what you are consuming?  I ask because I know that if I don't write it out, I over estimate the amount of protein and sometimes underestimate my carbs and worst of all, I noticed that although I always have water with me, it doesn't help if I don't actually drink it...

Hang in there, the stall will break.
