Zinc - Help Please!

Before surgery, I never had a problem taking Zinc.  I have taken it with Selenium for many years.  Now, whenever I take it, I feel the "gag" sensation like I am going to throw up.

I ordered the Zinc Lozenges by Country Life.  Just got them day before yesterday.  I started yesterday.  I took one by itself no problems, then a few hours later took another one by itself and then I had a bit of the gag sensation but didn't happen.  Then last evening, I took another one.  This time, gagging started.

What on earth is going on with this Zinc and me?

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I can get my Zinc in?

Thank You!

If one a day is ok but 2 or 3 is too much, I'd go with one a day for a few weeks before trying 2 a day. If you still want to get sick after 2, taking 1 is better than none.

I have trouble getting zinc down myself but I blamed it on them being uncoated.

I get what you mean, but when my labs came back with my zinc low I decided that zinc was my friend and I somehow managed to be able to start swallowing them OK (half of it used to dissolve in my mouth before I got it down before).

Also the Country Life 50mg zinc seems to have some sort of very fine coating and goes down pretty easy.  The tablets are smallish too.

Are you just getting this with chewables and lozenges, or have you tried swallowing a pill?  Try the plls  It should be no problem.

Zinc lozenges are evil IMO so switched to chelated tablets.  Problem solved.

I first had capsules, then got tablets... They each did the same thing...  That's why I bought the lozenges this month.  ~Sigh~
