My protein concoction... Works Great! Tasts Even Better!
I have been out of the hospital since Wednesday afternoon. It has been a bit of a struggle trying to drink my protein and all the other liquids I am suppose to consume through out each day. Today however I made a concoction that works and tastes really good, and it counts toward your protein and liquids. I took my blender and put two cups of milk, two scoops of protein powder, two bananas (approved by not only the bariatric hospital I was at, but also my dietitian), and ice. I blend it until it is smooth. When I want some I pore the amount I need and leave the rest in the mixer in the fridge. It has worked so well!
sounds really good, and if it works for you to get all the liquids and protein you need, then all the better...tomorrow is my 4 month anniversary from my ds.....it was hard in the beginning to get all the liquids down, but it does get easier....now when it comes back to eating foods, I still have some things i have to stay away from cause they make me sick. I have had to learn to cut up my food in very small bites, and learn what the dr. has tried to teach us all for many years, chew your food many, many times before swallowing....Ive became a master of that...but I would have this surgery again tomorrow if I have to, it was a life saver for me. My beginning weight was 342, and as of yesterday im down 96lbs.....
Good luck to you..
There are two that I really like. The first one is call Unjury. It comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, unflavored, and chicken soup. For me I get it at the hospital pharmacy, but you can also go online to either amazon or unjury.com and get it there too. I also really like ISO-Flex. It comes in many flavors, (right now I'm drinking cookies and cream), and has all of the requirements needed to count. I get my ISO-Flex from Max Muscle, which is the local weight loss muscle builder pill, protein, power up store. I am sure whatever store like it you have around you will carry the same product. I hope this helps! Good luck with your surgery!
Do you how many carbs are in bananas? It probably doesn't really matter right now but soon it will. You can choose to listen to whomever you want but if you want the fastest weight loss and to get to your goal weight you wil need to listen to the vets here and not eat foods laden with carbs.

Not to be rude, but my dietitian and the hospital both said this was fine... and if it was that big of a deal I am sure I wouldn't have lost 14 lb. in a week. Plus I wouldn't have posted it nor would I be doing it if I didn't first clear it by my dietitian. Like my dietitian said, the liquid diet is only a two week process (at least it is for me) and something like this not only gives me the protein and liquid but helps with the energy so I don't feel as sluggish.
Besides I am sure any of these wonderful ladies are smart enough to talk to their dietitian to find out what is best for them and their sercimstanses. This works for me. Other than feeling shaky now and then I feel great! I don't take naps through out the day and have enough energy to do homeschool throughout the day as long as don't move wrong.
