I'm embarrassed to say this, but my surgery date was Oct 7, 2012 and only lost 17lbs. I can eat anything.  The only complication I'm having is I'm dizzy. My Vitamin D was very low. My iron was low. But need to educated myself on how much iron, B12,Vit D, and other supplements. I like a failure. I hate that I can eat large quantities. I will listen. I don't want anymore health issues.

Go to vitalady.com and read her list of DS vites and start with what she recommends.  What have you been taking?

Please don't say Flintstones...

How you considered requesting an upper GI x-ray to determine whether or not your DS is technically sound? It's possible that your sleeve is too large, or that some other problem exists.

Definitely get on board with the vitamins, and supplements, you need those no matter what, but it sounds like you may not have a proper DS. There is no way to know without some kind of work-up. Don't blame yourself for what may be beyond your control.

That doesn't sound right at all, and I've never heard of your surgeon.  You need to get some information as to what was really done to you.  Are you sure you had a DS and not a VSG?

Given who the surgeon is...I suspect it's NOT a true DS.

Duodenal Switch (Lap) 01-24-11 | Surgeon: Stephen Boyce | High weight: 250 in 2002 | Surgery weight: 203 | Lowest weight: 121 | Current weight: 135 | Goal weight: 135

Why would you say that? He advertises DS and as far as anyone of us knows that's what he did. Is he known for DS-BS?

Ah so now we come to the truth. Check with your insurer to see what he billed them for. DS has a specific billing code so if he billed them for it but didn't perform it that may be actionable in court as well.
