It works even at almost 4 years out.

At Thanksgiving I had to go buy jeans in a size larger than my closet is full of.  Talk about depressing.  But I knew that I had gained the weight by not even watching carbs and eating candy by the bagfull.

I started back to basics and going low carb the day after Thanksgiving.  Today I am proud to say that I am wearing a pair of my smallest jeans.  They are tight but they are ON.

I am eating a ton.  Just like when I was first loosing.  I am just eating VERY low carb and high protein and high fat.

I freakin' love my DS.  We are going on vacation in 3 weeks and I am going to be wearing my bikini's proudly.

That is so neat! See if we gain weight, we can just get back to basics and actually lise the weight. Unlike a diet b4 we had the surg. That we would just give up on, and then gain more weight.

Exactly.

Hi Becky--Congratulations on beating  back the carb monster. We are still in battle at my house.... Did you really buy bikinis??? Now I am REALLY jealous of you! Even if I loose another 30 pounds, I can't expose that much skin LOL. I plan to reward myself with some PS when I get back down, then maybe more exposure. I gained all my 20 pounds around the middle and I still have no boobs or butt. If I could only rearrange the fat! Anyhow, thanks for letting me know it is possible (and in short order) to take off the pounds. angry

I am still loosing slowly.  Last weigh in I had 1 lb to goal but it may bounce around here.  I am feeling great about my success.  And yep...all my swim suits are two pieces!!!

Thanks for posting this! I came today looking for inspiring stories and I found yours right away!

I had my DS in 2006.  I've lost over 200 pounds and over the past two years I've put on 30 pounds. I'm scared, but am getting back on track.  I'm exercising and tracking my food on fit pal...to make sure I'm getting enough protein.  I want to turn this around and get back into my small jeans too.

Anyone know if there are other old timer's working on losing a bit...are they here....or another board??  Again....thank you for sharing your success and I look forward to any other advice...but know I need to return to the basics and get away from the carbs!

Thanks!  Lisa

Wish I could have plastics!!  I am still loosing, still going low carb.  I get my chocolate fixes from Atkins bars (I limit to one per day) and Diet Hot Chocolate made with Heavy Cream and topped with Land O Lakes Sugar Free Whipped Cream.  Going low carb REQUIRES me to get enough fat.

Good luck.  Post on the Bites and Vites thread every day and you too will see the pounds fall off.

I'm 7 years out, and regained a little, but am conflicted on whether or not I really want to lose back to my smallest size (size 6-8).  I'm a 10-12 right now, and while part of me frets about being in double-digits, the other part smiles knowing I'm still smaller than average and I really like how my boobies changed with this little bit of regain.  If only I could sculpt selectively....

I just feel better at this weight.  But the size does matter to me too.  At this weight I don't have a muffin top.  That really really bothers me.

It is just a personal individual decision.
