Everyone is right....

1) You had major surgery and your body has finally realized...going "WHAT in the hell did you do to me???"

2) Almost 95% percent of us experience a stall at 2/3 weeks. I realize the search feature here is very poor but if you do a search on stalls, you will see almost everyone mentioning one early on.

3) Make sure that at less than 30 days out, you are getting a MINIMUM of 64 oz fluids and 30 grams of protein. The more protein you can manage tho, the better...most of us try for 30, month 1, 60 month 2, and 90+ by month 3.

4) STAY off the scale...just weigh at your doctor appts. (YES, VERY hard to do).

5) If you didn't measure pre-op, do so now and then every month on your surgery day...the months we don't lose weight, we do tend to lose inches.

6) It will work, it just takes a bit of time...you didn't get there overnight, you can't lose it overnight (altho this is as close as we come, LOL)

That is all great advice Liz.   Thank you so much.   im trying to not beat myself up over it and realize it is normal...  hopefully when i go to my dr on the 23rd...  maybe i will have lost some more by then.

im going to AVOID the scale until then.   should be a good indicator if i don't loose anymore that something has to be wrong.

A better indicator is how your clothes fit and how your health is at that point. But glad to help...this really is not uncommon. Just feels like you are the only one it will happen to and after all, we didn't do this to keep the weight ON!

I had surgery on Dec 13th. My surgeon gave me some wise advise: stay OFF the scale. I admit to checking a couple of times but I am going to try very hard throughout this whole process to not put too much stock in the number on my scale. Take care!

Good luck to you..   hopefully you will learn from my mistake and just stay off for the most part...   maybe i will loose again if i just stop being so paranoid about a number and just let the DS work the way it is suppose to .

thats my plan starting NOW! =)

Stay off the scale!  Hang in there!  You will be ok.  Your body is adjusting to new anatomy!

I took measurements every week.  I had a spreadsheet left over from my BodyMakeOver days.  What I found during my first stall is my body was changing.  I didn't lose any weight for a couple of weeks, but I lost over 13".   So, my DS was still working, but my body was trying to play catch up.
