Thoughts on Muscle Milk

I'm 2 weeks out and struggling with protein.  I literally cannot drink the powdered shakes right now.  They make me start to dry heave just looking at it!  So I've been drinking some muscle milks lately in an attempt to get in more protein.  I know they probably aren't the best...but I'm worried about throwing my money away on something that is doing me no good too.  They certainly aren't cheap!

Thoughts?  Better RTD suggestions?

This is the info on them:

There is nothing wrong with Muscle Milk. There are other brands that have a better protein to carb ratio (higher protein, lower carb) which is good, but right now drink and eat what you tolerate. It's tough early out.

I'm not as worried about carbs now that I'm into my maintenance phase, but I still drink some Muscle milk because they have a white chocolate flavor I add to my coffee, or even other protein powder. I usually drink Champion chocolate for the flavor and decent protein/carb ratio, or 6 Star brand, for the price and protein/carb ratio.

Again, there may be better brands, but if you can choke down the muscle milk, that's good enough.

Try the Oh Yeah brand RTD shakes,  or there are many more on the market.  Go to a Vitamin Shoppe or GNC and try a few. different brands. At the end of the day remember you have to have the protein, you don't have to like it.  So do what you have to do to get it in.

The Oh Yeah drinks are delicious. So are their bars. They have more carbs than is ideal, but sometimes it's worth it.

I had a hard time with protein after my surgery as well I am about six months out and things are getting better but the protein I could tolerate at first was the ready to drink proteins  I used pure protein and now I use premium protein and I get that from Costco and tolerate that pretty well

I had a terrible time at first trying all different brands.  I finally found my Holy Grail of protein with the Unjury Medical Grade protein.  I order it monthly (auto delivery you save 15%).  It doesn't make me sick at all (which all others after surgery were making me terribly nauseated) and they would make me vomit.

I also tried the unjury protein. It mixes well and tastes pretty good, The chicken flavor  is so good it tastes almost like egg drop soup  without the egg and the scallions.
