This is perfectly normal.  Most of what you're eating is liquids, and it takes a little time to get things worked out.  You'll get more substance as you eat more solid foods.  Be sure to get some probiotics in you (as simple as some yogurt) to keep good bacteria in your intestines for balance.

I had frequent loose stools for about two months, sometimes as embarrassing as it may sound I did not make it to the bathroom. It is possible. But I just tried to remember that my body was healing. And I just dealt with whatever was to happen.

Gosh, you must just be home from the hospital, right?  Your guts are healing after major surgery, so plan on staying close to a bathroom and pop probiotics.

You had major surgery on your guts THREE DAYS ago. When I was three days post-op, I was still in the hospital. Count yourself LUCKY.

Things started getting better at about 8 weeks for me.  It's just gonna take some time for things to normalize.  Liquid in, liquid out right now.  =)  Just stay close to a potty.

I've heard lots of horror stories about people not making it to the toilet, but thankfully it never happened to me.  Each week will get a little better and your body will start to work out a routine.  Unfortunately it might be during the middle of the night.  I went several nights with minimal sleep.  I went back to work at 8 days post-op and there were several nights I'd stay on the toiled from 1am-3am and my alarm went off at 5am.  Just make sure you go do bed early if that happens.  Then a few weeks later, I realized I was sleeping through the night and I'd get up and incorporate my potty time into my morning routine...

Just know it gets better.  =)

Normal.  You just have to wait this out until you are eating firmer foods and getting your calcium and iron in (both are constipating).

Hang in there.  It not only gets easier, it gets wonderful.

I'm four weeks post-op and keep swinging from too loose to constipated!  It's all about your body adjusting, plus the weird stuff you're eating (drinking) plus the vitamin supplements, etc.  It will take us a while to get adjusted, and I have a feeling our "normal" will now be much different than before our surgery!

Hang in there -
