Omegas

I have taken them for many many years.  I was very concerned after surgery that they would get lost with my DS.  I am a very brand specific girl when taking these.  Always New Chapter or Barleans.  Well, I have changed the way I take them now, doubled the dose.  I do feel that I am seeing and feeling a difference with my dry eyes.  (Which had become super dry after surgery) .  I thought I would share what I am doing in case anyone else wanted to try it.

To try my experiment.  I bought the BOGO at CVS of Pure Alaskan Fish Oil (cold processed).  I take 2 (1000 mg) at night right before bed and 2 in the AM.  Both times, by themselves.  Yes, that is 4000 per day, since we malabsorb, I'm hoping that I am getting the benefit of at least 1/2 of that per day.  My eyes have been so dry, that I nearly had the plugs put it.  Decided to try this first.

Thought I would share in case anyone was wondering about Omegas.

This system of taking it by itself is working for my dry eyes.  I've been doing this about 2 weeks at this point.

I suffer with terribly dry eyes (not WLS related - I had this pre-op) so I may try it. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing I was wondering if many were taking omegas I'm not at this time and was wondering if it was something I should add to my vitamins.

I think it's great that you take omegas. I'm still using the Barleans swirl fish oil (omega 3). I never can remember what they are supposed to be good for except that my hubby also takes them for heart and cholesterol issues.

A friend of mine was just telling me how great fish oil has been for her dry eyes.   Glad it's working for you too!   My night-time slots are taken, but I might try it it the afternoons....

No doubt fish oil is good stuff.  No way it will hurt you so take it!
