I have had the DS almost 2 years ago and I am stuck at 220 pounds and need to lose about 50 more.  I am feeling desperate! Does anybody know anything about this Endoluminal Liner, and if a DS patient can have it done?

I believe this is still classified as experimental but there are clinical trials going on.  I believe this will be be a great surgery for diabetics.  It's a plastic bag/tube that's put in the small bowel to keep food from being absorbed.  It's kind of neat looking.  I'm sure it wouldn't last forever or would have to be replaced every so often.

My big concern would be that we already have a lot of malabsorbtion.  Can we really add more without inviting extreme deficiencies?  But it looks like it would be easy to get rid of or try.

You know, this should be cheap....  But you know how that goes.
