Vitamins
hi,
I bought 3 months of vitamins from vitalady and just started taking them today. Since my surgery I have never been sick or even thought I was going to be sick but after taking my noon vitamins today I was sick to my stomach. How long before everyone started their full day of vitamins after surgery?

Work up to the full regimen slowly. First culprit could be the iron. Start by taking 1 capsule for the first week and if you do ok, add a second capsule the 2nd week and so forth until you can take the full dose. Another culprit could be the zinc. Try not taking the zinc for a couple of days and see if you still get sick.
The iron at full dose the first time I tried it made me sick too. Vitalady said to take it slowly as I suggested above. You can ease into those vitamins. Try the multies, D3 and calcium at first and go from there...slowly one week at a time. : )

Thanks for the suggestions. The rest of yesterdays vitamins went ok and this mornings are done. But I will try cutting back if I start to feel sick again. I also noticed that many of you take omega 3 that is not something that I received when I ordered my 3 month supply from vitalady is that something I should be adding to my daily vitamins?
Thanks,
Trish

The omega 3 isn't a requirement. If you want to start them at some point, they aren't a bad idea. I don't eat a lot of fish so I make it up by taking omega 3-- Barlean's swirl fish oil. It's an emulsion and easier for us to absorb. Coromega is another option and I think Vitamin Shoppe carries their own brands.
