Patty, that's why I got the ones I did...they DO cover the side boob!

I gave up on cute long ago.  My goal is something that gives them shape, holds them up where they need to be and they cannot escape out of.  Very few bras have fit the bill, and the balconette does all 3 for me

Val-

I'm lucky I still have anything to put *in* a bra!  Totally deflated and pitiful!  Think baseball-in-toe-of-tube sock!

Thank God padded bras are back in vogue!  Implants are defenitely on the "to do" list!

I haven't worn a real bra since my breast reduction about 12 years ago -- I've only been able to get stretchy sport bras to fit.  (BTW a great place to get casual cotton bras & basics http://www.decentexposures.com/ - small business, woman-owned.)  I've tried fitters but they give up in frustration :-)  Recently ran across another specialist in the PDX-area that I'm determined to try now I'm down a few pounds, I have high hopes!  I sure would like to have something pretty & feminine for a change.  --Sharon

I LOVE the balconette bra from Lane Bryant. For a couple of years they weren't shipping to Canada so I went into a specialty store and paid an obscene amount of money for three bras that were never comfortable. I ended up finding the balconettes on ebay so I bought there for a while and now Lane Bryant ships to Canada again. This has been a lifesaver for me. For those of you (like me) still losing, they have half price sales (sometimes for everything on their website) all the time, which is a great way to refresh a dwindling wardrobe with inexpensive clothes that you won't mind giving away in a couple of months when they get too big.

I had to buy bras at the beginning of the month.  I picked up the Lane Bryant Cushioned Balconette.  It doesn't have any stays on the side, cushioned and wider straps.  I love it!  I tried them on in the store and then waited for an online sale (1/2 off online only).  I bought Sugar, Cafe Mocha & Black.  I've given away all my other bras.  I had it shipped to store - Yeah, free shipping!

I am hoping these will last until the end of Feb but you never know.  I bought a 38 which was extremely tight.  Now, it's not.  I just hope that I can still wear the 36 when my weight loss stops.  That's where I was at my smallest as an adult.  I will not skimp on bras!!

I had some really pretty bras from Avenue and Lane Bryant.  I gave them away to the Manager at The Avenue plus clothes.  She was so appreciative.

I think Val is so right - don't wait!
