weight gain from increased vitamins?
hey,just wondered if it was normal to have a weight gain while increasing vitamins? since ive increased them this past week and upped my 27 gram shakes to 2 per day i have gained 3 lbs? i weigh on saturdays. curious if anyone experienced this? not that it wi sway me from my increase of vit's, just thought it weird!
Some folks just have a little up and down pattern to their weight loss. It may not be related to your vitamins or shakes, just the way your body loses weight. Let's see how next week looks.

Yes try and not get too hung up about a bad day (easier said than done, I know). But I've found that my weight really can fluctuate up to around 3lbs. This is so different for me as I'm used to WW where I'd either stay the same or lose half an lb, not this mini yoyoing effect.

true..id rather be up 10 lbs and feel GOOD! At this point i just want to get nutritionally sound. im so tired of being sick and am struggling with 'is if a vitamin defencicy?" or is something other wrong with me! labs will be in thursday.so i just have to wait. im flat in bed today with no energy. and this has been since july! wish there was a chat option, i need so much knowledge. thanks for the post :)

Calcium and zinc can be constipating which can easily add 3 lbs. Many DSers take good doses of Magnesium Oxide tablets with their calcium to counter the constipating effects of the minerals. But, after experimenting with different remedies, have personally settled on Chia seeds and hemp seeds to combat that problem. Was using flax seed/chia seed combination but wanted eliminate the flax for other nutritional reasons.
ahhh that makes sense, i never even thought of that. but, i do take miralax every other day and 2 stool softners and usually dont have much constipation issues. however, this past week, i havent felt like i have been going "well". you know what i mean. also, i am so bloated (im thinking it may be gluten sensitivity, so i am laying off for a bit to see if i notice a change). maybe the bloating is causing weight gain.? who knows. and of course my dr. is out of town till jan 10 so i have to wait to see him till then.
im just so sick....no energy, nauseous, weak....i have my vit labs coming in next week. my hemaglobin is now in normal range. we shall see what unfolds with these labs. something has got to give, i dont even have energy for christmas :( #sickofbeingsick
You have malnutrition right now-fluid plus and minuses will be all over the place. You need about 200grams of protein per day right now and your vitamins. Your weight from a"weight loss" perspective is immaterial. It is good to weigh to keep track of your fluid changes as your lack of protein is what is contributing to this.
Well, it will be a job. You are going to have to drink a lot of it via shakes. I can not recall right now exactly but didn't you say that you get about 60 grams of protein a day before you came here? If that's all you have been getting then you need to kick it into high gear. Our bodies will eat it's own muscle if you don't eat enough protein and your heart is a muscle. Please post your lab values and ref ranges when you get them. MajorMom is a great person to look at them. She rocks!
