No Such Thing!
Yes, I thought his feelings were interesting as well. In 2011 My PTH was 71 and my total D was 28 so they prescribed me Calctiol and another Vit D supplement that was oil based. I took that for about 6 months and retested. During that time, on those meds, my PTH shot up to 138 and my Vit D went up to 41. So they said stop taking the Vit D (script kind) and double the Dry D3 you been taking (from 50K to 100K plus the Calctriol which is another 50K or so). 6 months after that move my PTH went up to 142 and my Vit D went up to 43. So yesterday Endo says stop taking the Calcitriol all together because you have too much Vit D which is causing the PTH to try to compensate or some other such nonsense. I've decided to self diagnose. I'm going to drop the Calcitriol, keep the Dry D3 from Vitalady at 100K per day and add the K2 and Boron supplements (I already take K1). Does that make sense you think to try? I'm set to be retested in February. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I appreciate the personal stories and advice. It's a learning experience to say the least. I wish the fatique and brain fuzziness would abate though in the process. :(
P.S. My calcium was 8.9 before DS. Then 9.5, 9.4, 9.3, and this last time 9.5. He said because my albumin wasn't high that was okay to have calcium reads in this higher end of normal. Thoughts? I know there is a 3 legged stool here with calcium, D, and PTH and I'm trying to learn about it and understand it. I take all my other vites everyday; always have. My only struggle so far has been with iron and now this.
