It's official! Going to try to conceive!

I won't be getting my depo shot in January and will officially be trying for a baby this summer! My husband and I both agreed this summer would be a good place to start. I am so excited I can't stand it! One of the main reasons I had surgery was to be healthy enough to have a child. Now the true test is actually getting pregnant... hope that goes according to plan. My mother's side has a slew of female problems, usually resulting in them never being able to have children. So keeping my fingers crossed. Is it summer yet?

Hey lady,

I am so excited for you, and I wish you all the blessings during  your journey.

Curious how old are you?  I'm pushing 40 and I still have not had my child, due to some missing elements like a man/husband.

However, I'm hopeful as well.

Personally you don't need a man to have a child anymore ;p

If you want a child don't let anything hold you back!

I am 27 going to be 28 in a few months. I was 26 when I had the DS :) I will be a year post-op on Dec 19th!

You know I would not be surprise if you get preggers before summer.  Its something about weight loss and our hormones wish causes an easy conception.

Enjoy this is an beautiful time in your life.

I had been on depo for 5 years, quit and got pregnant the first month.  Four kids later, my hubby and I decided we must be pretty fertile.  But, just goes to show you that it can happen quickly after depo.  Main thing is to just enjoy it, not make it something on your "to do list"...that pressure can make things take longer.  So, have fun!  :) (And good luck!)

i made it a very long 'to do' list i definitely don't expect it right away. i don't want to get my hopes up to high until the first year passes of trying:) because like you said it can get depressing trying to plan and meet deadlines, just to be let down. i will be using condoms till this spring just to be on safe side.

yea sometimes wls is like a shot of fertility!

I wish you all the luck in the world! Please post if you do get pregnant! That was one of my reasons for having the surgery as well. I had a basketball sized cyst on one ovary so that had to be removed and 2 recurring borderline malignant tumors on the other ovary. I have about a quarter of a single ovary left and was told that losing weight would help my chances. It would be super encouraging to hear someone with a family history of female problems be able to conceive. There may be hope for me yet!!
