No, some people still have type 2 diabetes after the DS.  I wouldn't say it's impossible.  I don't think enough time has passed or whether someone would even be interested in comparing the data for DSers that develop diabetes much later in life to other equally matched non-op populations.

I think the resolution of diabetes has something to do with insulin sensitivity which is increased by the intestinal diversion and more concentrated food getting to parts of the intestine that aren't used to being in contact with food at that stage of digestion.  But people don't know for SURE.

Kayla, you're right, some do or the percentage would be 100% not 95-98%. And the longer you were diabetic, the longer it can take to resolve.

The others were either type 1's or LADA's (1.5) and those require a pancreas transplant to resolve....they make NO insulin...unlike type 2 that just has a serious issue using what insulin we make.
