Back to Basics
Hi Jaiart,
I followed this post and did not want to speak out of turn until I contacted the individual that I was thinking about, which I have now done. I happen to know someone who had the DS PRIOR to me (my DS was 3/6/2003) who is vegetarian and has remained so successfully with the DS for over 10 years. She is healthy and happy and manages to keep her protein levels normal mostly with food. She does a protein supplement in the morning for extra insurance, but does manage to get more than enough protein from food. And she is a completely normal weight.
It can be done.
If you would like more information, please private message me and I will forward the information.
Best wishes,
Sharon G.
If you drop yogurt, be sure you're taking a probiotic in some kind of pill form. DSers are prone to bacterial imbalances without purposely eating probiotics. Yogurt is all I need, but others take pills, and Greek and carbmasters by Kroger are low in carb.
