1 Month Post Op, Always Hungry. Please Help!
I wouldn't sweat it at all how much you eat. Just concentrate on WHAT you eat. Actually feeling hungry is a gift, making it so much easier to get in the food that your body needs. Your goal is 100g of protein daily, and eating every couple of hours is just how I accomplish this. Just make the first thing you eat rich in protein. Yogurt, lunchmeat, tender slow cooked meat, ricotta cheese (one of my favorites) amongst other cheeses. Eat away and keep track of serving sizes and how much you're getting. If you can swing 100g of protein without having to eat a horrible shake - man you're in for some smooth sailing.
As for the loss - you'll see ebbs and flows along the way. To give perspective, it took em 1.5 years to lose 21 lbs on weigh****chers, so you've surpassed that. I remember when I returned to work after 8 weeks, I wanted to say that I'd lost 50 lbs. I was three pounds shy and so frustrated by it. It was only another week or so that I was able to claim it, though.
For fluids - your daily goal is 64oz. It can be anything wet without caffeine. Try different flavors and temperatures, too. It makes a difference.

I seriously need to post this on my wall. I think I'm still in the pre-op "brick wall" dieting mentality. Logically I know that obsessing over this is pointless, but anxiety creeps up anyway. Thanks!
I had a lot of stomach issue in the beginning nexium 2 x a day takes care of it. I purchase the generic brand from Costco. It takes about 6 - 8 months for your stomach to heal. Plus this early out you may still be retaining fluid from your surgery. I think it is normal to question I know I did just keep coming back here and you will find the right answers or at the very least feel at ease. Some advice I took was not to wt myself frequently as I was much more pleased when I did not. Now I do not have a scale in the house and I use the gym scale at work every other week.
I hit a period where I have not been changing wt and I think it because I have been taking in to many carbs I have made some adjustments and it is very difficult at times to think I am doing the right thing as every fiber in my body has been so brain washed by prior diets to my ds and even miss informed Dr now. I have 20 pounds to go and with the help of this site I think I will make it. I changed my protein shake from milk to heavy cream which since it has no carbs is good for me and I am still trying to get my brain around it. The truth is in the pudding so to speak and I think less wt, less constipation, less dry skin will prove the change was the correct way to go.
Good luck know when I was where you are I had a hard time finding any thing I could eat if my stomach was not an issue my taste buds were the issue. I feel normal now like I did not have the surgery. Surgical date 2/14/12
I bet you need nexium twice a day like my doc ordered.
The other thing I remember is wanting the wt off right now and I think that is normal. In one year you will be very pleased as I have not heard one person fail. I have heard those not get to goal by 20 pounds hence I took a look at my current intake and although I have heard for months to change my shakes to omit milk but I did not now I decided there are those out here that are wiser then I.
PS I am a nurse and 99.9 % of the time this site is spot on. I do follow vitalady vit regime and that can be tacking but I did not start it as early as you are and I am still adjusting to that.
