Is there a maz number of carbs I should try and stay under per day?

Never counted carbs; just focused on protein first, protein first, protein first. After you getting in 120g or protein there isn't much room (or time) for many carbs as long as you stay away from sugary liquids such as soda, juice or milkshakes. Maybe someone else can answer the number of carbs question.
I've read about people keeping them below 50 or 100g. I don't count them either. If I were in a long stall I might have to though. I try and get 120g protein minimum and that only leaves limited room for carbs so long as you don't drink them as puppysweets said.

I have been keeping them under 50g per day. You don't have to count them at the moment but I remember my surgeon saying that this is the time where I should be developing new habits to take me through the long haul. I am a carb ***** and I know if I don't get into the habit of tracking carbs, they will sneak up on me.

During my losing phase-- 120+ grams of protein and under 50 grams of carbs. It's easier for me to stay under 70 than 50 though and I computed net carbs rather than total carbs. Net is the grams of carbs after subtracting fiber and sugar alcohols.
