I had a switch from RNY to DS and had problems. I had a leak, which is fixed, two blood clots which are almost gone and an abscess which is being treated with antibiotics.

My problem is that I have uncontrollable diarreah . Have any of you experienced it?
Does the diarreah go away?

1. can you describe your uncontrollable diarrhea in more detail?  How many a day? How often? soft poop? runny poop? watery poop?  All poops same consistency?

2. What are you eating?

3. What vitamins and supplements are you taking?

Runny poop and today I had about 6 of them. Can we take anti- diarreah meds? The doctor has me on very few vitamins right now until the abscess is healed. I think it's the antibiotics that are causing it but I have no warning. When it comes out its too late to get to the restroom.

Any suggestions?
Hugs, esther

When on antibotics (like I was when I had abscess), your new configuration of bowls, and your limited diet these all contribute to bad runny poos. No you cannot change it! I tried tons of probiotics but antibotics will do that on top of everything else. This will happen until your off the antibotics. When fine with them, make sure to take some probiotics to help your guts out. Good luck.

Tho some people think normal early DS poops are uncontrollable diarrhea, you are probably correct in identifying antibiotics as the cause of actual diarrhea in this case. Doctor should be notified because of the danger of dehydration and to maybe prescribe some anti diarrhea medicine.

I'm guessing your also still on mostly liquids and liquid in means liquid out. When you get back on all solids they will firm up and when you are on your full vitamin regimine you are more likely to suffer constipation issues.
