Hi Dr K is my surgeon, he is highly skilled and only takes on certain revisions.
Have you spoken with anyone in his office yet?

yes i have i was told he's been doing this type of surgery for years. i did ask if they could have some of there former rny to ds revision patients contact me so that i could ask questions. I trust mr. kimmiter is a excellent surgeon he has excellent reviews i did have someone post some not so nice things about the practice in another thread i started and she claimed he didn't do revisions. I'm going based on what the office tells me and not a unhappy ex patient.

When do you have your first appointment? Are you in Michigan?

To be clear, Tattoobabe, I am NOT Kemmeter's "ex-patient".  I am Foote's.  Kemmeter is a wonderful virgin DS surgeon, the finest one in Michigan, IMO.  I am not bashing him.

I take it you still have not gotten in touch with any of their RNY to DS revision patients.

Keep your blinders on, babe.  Let us all know how your "revision" turns out.

Ignore advice from veterans.  See how far that gets you.

I.  am.  not.  a.  doctor.

So since you were never EVER a patient of kemmeter you don't know if this doctor has started doing revision surgeries or if he's been doing them for years. im not an idiot Im also not afraid of speaking up for myself or asking questions I just left dealing with a surgeon who said he does revisions and really doesn't  i do not settle for something i don't want and im definitely not afraid to speak up or ask questions so if i find he has only done a handful of rny to ds revision  surgeries i won't be one of his patients. I don't need someone who is still pissed about the crap service they got with a doctor i have no intention of dealing with telling me what a doctor they never were seen by does or doesn't do. I do choose to ignore someone who is not informed about the surgeon i will be dealing with.

Sheanie, Kemmeter is indeed doing a true RnY to DS revision, and has been for (maybe?) two years now.  He takes patients case by case, as any great surgeon should.  There is only so much that can be done, even by a fantastic cutter, if there is a mess in there!  But, he is no longer doing ERnY, as was his standard for revisions.  As a great surgeon, he truly believed this was the answer, but following those patients, has changed his mind.... and until he did so, I would beg patients to stay clear of him (ERnY SUCKS!) and recommend two other surgeons.  Now, I highly recommend Kemmeter as one of only three options for a RnY to DS revision.

P.S.  The one you are talking to?  SHE is the "nice" one I was referring to earlier (another thread).  I stick to the medical / factual stuff, and say it like it is.  Lisa is genuinely VERY nice, and a very good person to know.
