Hey Guys,

Lately I noticed, I can hear my bones crack when I get up or when I have been seating for awhile.  I take enough calcium citrate, approx 4,500 per day, and I take my vitamin D, 50,000 per day.  I do notice my vitamin D could be up, but overall it looks okay, what could be the problem, if there is one? Any recommedations?

What was your ionized calcium level?  You want your D to be between 80-100.  How much Dry D are you taking daily now?

what could be the problem

Gas.  No, not from that end.  Gas bubbles in the fluid around the joint.  But if you have pain or swelling, it could be that the joint is deteriorating so see a doc.

I'm taking (1) Vitalady 50,000 vitamin D per day.

Calcium, Ionized, Serum is (5) the range is (4.5 - 5.6 ) so that is good.  And I take anywhere from 3,000 - 4,500 of calcium citrate.

I know I always had to maintenance on my teeth due to a cavity or root canal that would be needed.

Your D is low.

Ask your doctor about the cracking.  It could be nothing, but better safe than sorry.

Get more exercise, and hydrate.

Your D is way low.

However, mine was over 100 and I still creaked and cracked...it can JUST happen as we age.

I wonder just like anything else need oil,.....I might try adding some fish oil....I know they say we do not absorb, but it doesn't hurt to try.

DSers only absorb something like 25 to 30% of the fats and oils.  That doesn't mean we should avoid fats, it means we need to eat lots and lots and lots of them to get enough of the essential ones we need for good health.  Many DSers take fish oil or other forms of omega 3 and omega 6.
