rny to ds doctor's in michigan

I have heard that Dr. Kemmeter of Grand Health Partners might be doing a full RNY to DS revision.    I would not recommend a "hybrid" type, however, where you still have your RNY pouch and DS intestinal configuration.  I've seen too many people have problems with it.    Call Kemmeter's office and ask if he does a FULL revision (a sleeve and DS guts).  He is an outstanding surgeon, and I was his twelfth DS, but a RNY-DS conversion is a very challenging surgery.   Unless Kemmeter could demonstrate to me that he's had many under his belt, Rabkin and Keshesian are the only two I would trust.

Yes, these are DS surgeons.  VIRGIN DS surgeons.  NOT RNY to DS revision surgeons.  VERY DIFFERENT!

It takes much more skill and expertise to perform a RNY to DS revision.  That is why we point posters in the direction of the vetted RNY to DS revision surgeon list.  I know you are trying to help, but you are not getting the point.  Just because a surgeon can do a DS does not mean they do revisions.  And a RNY to DS revision is the most difficult and is on a whole other level than any other revision out there.

No offense but it's amazing how you folks here dont know these doctors but you automatically "know" they can't perform the RNy to DS surgery. Have any of you contacted any of these doctors? First you say they aren't on dsfacts. com then I show they are and you say they don't / can't do the particular operation. All without even being familiar with them. Do some real research before you cast aspersions please.

Oh for gawds sake....stop it already.  If you would like to risk your life and not listen the people who have ALREADY done the research then you just go ahead and do that!  I am talking as a RNY to DS revision and so are a few others.  Are YOU a RNY to DS REVISION?  IF not, then SHUT UP!  YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!

I neither know nor care whom you think you are but how dare you tell me to stop and/or shut up! I will stand my ground and there is nothing you can do to stop that. There is nothing wrong with you voicing your opinion but there is nothing wrong with me voicing mine either. You seem to have anger issues when people hold dissenting viewpoints from your own. Maybe you should work on those instead of lashing out in such a disagreeable manner when I don't march in lock step with you. I reiterate, and even dsfacts.com agreed. Not all qualified doctors are listed on their site so do your own research. Don't take my word or the word of ANYONE else and that means you lady! Good day...

NO, I get irritated when individuals point newbies in dangerous directions.  I am not going to stand by and allow you to tell this newbie to check out a surgeon that we can already say DOES NOT DO THIS TYPE OF REVISION.  Dsfacts does not say they are RNY to DS revision surgeons.  So, get your facts straight and don't speak on things you know nothing about.  It just makes you look ignorant.

Once again you need some anger management therapy. This person has the duty to do her own research you can't do her dying for her so don't presume to make her decisions for her. All I said was for her to call these people and check them out now if that's bad advice I shudder to think what your advice would be: "just do what I say" is that it? Besides that, based on what do say these doctors don't do it? You haven't presented anything here other then irritation and disagreeable debate with no facts to back anything up. So once again calm yourself. I like to think this is just a bad day for you as oppossed to your normal behavior. Disagree without being disagreeable is the key to the greatness of the United States of America!

She's been around long enough here to see many patients nearly die, and in a few cases, DIE because they went to a doctor that does not actually do what their numbnuts receptionist or web site says they do.

Think "tough love," not "*****" and you might get it.

Yes, people should do their due diligence on their surgical choices, but many of us who have been here for YEARS and have seen lots of dummies come and go, who do not ask the right questions and get butchered for their lack of trouble. I think her heart is in the right place. I hope yours is, too.

Yes, everyone, do more than take anyone's advice on a web site. Particularly this one. This is your life you're talking about. Do NOT settle for second or third best or even lat place.

One last thing: if you want a revision, go with Rabkin, even if you have to travel. That is all. :)
