How much can you eat in one meal setting? Are you still measuring your meals?

I NEVER measured mine.

And each day is different. I still have tiny tummy days and others I eat like there is no tomorrow! However, it is mostly about 1/4 to 1/3 of what I ate pre-op.

I'm over 21 months out now.

I'm 1.5 years out.. Same as above comment. I have days I can eat a whole 6oz steak and salad and others where I can only eat a few bites. I do eat several small meals a day and 2 are usually more "volume" I never measured my meals either.

I pretty much eat all day long. With 3-4 I call meals and snacks about every 2 hours or so. But all "meals" are small compared to what I used to eat.

I too have never measured. I try to eat slow enough so I know when I'm full/had enough. Some days I can eat a lot other days not so much.

I never measured a meal.  That is RnY crap advice.  Eat protein.  Listen to your NONpouch stomach and don't overeat.  I can eat more than most non-surgically altered people at one meal.  I have no restriction that I can tell.  THAT is why I needed the malabsorption of the DS which lasts.

I was told the restriction helps you loose the weight, the malabsorption helps you keep the weight off.  And that has been VERY true for me.

My surgery was 9-30-09.

We all vary a lot, and have different starting sleeve sizes. I had about a 3 oz sleeve to start, and at over 4.5 years out, I generally eat smallish / normal sized meals. I can eat enough that if it weren't for the malabsorbtion, I'd be gaining.

I'm 28 months out. I never measured anything either just eat whatever I want, protein first. My husband says maybe 1/2, 3/4 of a cup?? I ate a 6 oz steak, 1/2 of a potato, and a few bites of broccoli yesterday at dinner...today I ate 6 chickfila nuggets and was stuffed. Every day is different. What doesn't change is that I eat often... 6:30 protein coffee, 7:00 breakfast, 9:45 snack, 12:45 lunch, 3:30 snack, 5:00 protein coffee, 6:30 dinner, 9:00 snack (not that regimented...but that's a general idea.)

About 10 years out and I've never measured a meal yet.  All you need to remember is protein first.  I can eat a pretty normal meal.

Several years ago a friend of mine was considering the DS.  He invited me out to eat with ulterior motives.  He wanted to see if I could still eat.  So he took me to the buffet at Golden Corral.  At the end of the meal, he said, yup, I can live like that.  And he went on to have surgery.

The DS rules are simple.  Protein first.  Most people need at least 100 grams a day.  Avoid carbs as much as possible.  Don't drink sugar/calories.

I was wondering about your energy levels. Do you still have strength and energy?

I'm 7 years out, don't measure, and eat every couple of hours...something...usually good, sometimes bad.  At my meal sittings, I can do 4-5 oz of protein, then veggies, then enjoy a few bites of the carbs.  When attacking a sandwich, I'll take 2-3 bites of the sandwich as designed before I start my dissection process.

Hubby says I eat like a bird ... a little at a time, but all the damned time.
