One more question regarding Omega's.  I've taken 1000mg in the AM & PM for years.  How much do you take now after surgery?

I take 2 tablespoons of Barlean's Swirl peach mango fish oil. It's an emulsion and there's 360mg in 2 tsp...so about 1080mg in one shake at lunchtime. Any idea what to ask for to test it via blood tests?  I don't see omega 3 on any lab test web sites I've looked at.

I haven't either.  I used Barlean's Flax Oil before surgery(1TBLS at night).  Barlean's Omegas (but in the softgel).  I don't but I will ask one of the Cardiologist if I get to speak with them this weekend.  The cardiologist I went to for my stress test said, I don't care what surgery you are having, take Fish Oil the rest of your life.  He was not familiar with this surgery.  I had not heart issues.  He said it was probably because I've done Fish Oil for 17yrs.  LOL!

BTW, I'm still waiting on all my lab results to come back.  It's been a week and a half and they are not all back.  Apparently there are 2 that take 2 weeks.

Are you prepared for the Frankenstorm?

I'm still going to ask when I speak with one.  I found this "Fatty Acid Profile"  See link below.  I wonder if only certain labs do them, not Quest or Labcorp.  Sprectracell (I think that's the name of them) are not covered by insurance and have to be paid for privately.  I had those done several years ago with an anti-aging Internist.  They really are great but pricey!

I think I'm ready for the storm. I have a big pot of soup on the stove and I'll start ribs in the morning before it hits. I have lots of water saved up, the cars are full of gas, the lanterns are filled, I have extra cream and plenty of protein powder. I need to go ahead and sort a week's worth of vitamins for hubby and me. I think that's it.

I'll check out the link. Thanks!

Wishing you all the best to stay safe!  I hope it's not as bad as the forecasters are saying... Maybe the weathermen will be off this time...:-)

Your internet access better not go down, otherwise we'll all be worried!!

B 2 sausages, 3 fried eggs, 2 pieces black pudding, 3 bacon rashers, tbsp baked beans 50
L Sausage roll innards 10
D Crispy duck (no pancakes) 35
S Tiramisu 5 http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/zero-net-carb-caramel-machiatto.html

- Protein: 100 Oops, a bit low for me - breakfast was just too much & I was full all day... seriously, I had barely any carbs today, one of my lowest carb days. I guess I got out of bed a little later so that left less eating time. I think I'll try cream cheese pancakes for Sunday breakfast given we have an extra hour.

- F 72+oz

- V Night time liquid iron (ferrous fumarate - the good stuff as confirmed by Gina & subsequently Google - I'd not have known to look otherwise) w vit C pending (for better iron absorption - gotta get my levels up a little)

- E 30 minute walk to & from pub for breakfast - I found my pedometer after that though!
