6 Days to surgery
Anyways, it'll be over in a few days. I'm so ready to get this over with. I've started cramping in my sides and foot, I'm guessing malnutrition(?).
Wish life had a FastForward button. LOL
I think you can do just as well on low carb high protein too. The cramps in your feet could be low potassium or magnesium. Are you going to buy your vitamins from Vitalady? She carries dry magnesium citrate in capsules that' are easy to take and might help get rid of those cramps. Or, if you've recently had labs, maybe they ran potassium and can tell you if it was running a little low and ask if you can start drinking some low sodium regular V8 juice--it's pretty low carb and high in potassium.

I have my hubby on most of her vites too. He takes the magnesium citrate with his calcium and an extra one or two when he's working outside in the heat. Electrolytes can get a little off and you'll feel it in your feet and legs. Better get those in good shape prior to surgery.

Just wanted to wish you best of luck on your surgery. I have been where you are. I was 425 when I had the RNY. Back in March I had the RNY to DS conversion. I am glad that you are getting DS and don't have to go through this twice. Best of luck... oh and I finally decided to just go with vitalady too. Terri
Wishing you good luck with your surgery. Wish you had a different surgeon, but oh well.
Like others, I believe the cramps are probably related to an electrolyte abnormality brought on by the pointless liquid diet, which thus far seems to be doing you more harm than good. Make sure you get everything checked, probably sooner better than later.
And just so you know, the prescription Vitamin D will be useless after your surgery, because it is packaged in oil, which you will no longer absorb. It's one of those products that sounds ideal for us but isn't. You will need the "dry" D, and the other dry forms of the fat soluble vitamins (A and K) that you can get from Vitalady or from the manufacturer. None of these are available by prescription.
