Hey just wondering how you all are doing with your DS, I soon will have mine and I wanted to see what issues have occur since them, what can you eat now or still can eat now after surgery, this is for my people who are 1 yr and up out of surgery. How much have you lost and how is life after the DS.

Extra nervous and cant wait for my surgery date.

P.S. I had the sleeve done in 2010, but re-gain weitght back,

I'm 7 year post op and loving life.  I eat a little bit of everything, but too much of some things may give me a reaction of gassiness.  Straight milk causes problems but most other dairy is just fine - and I don't like drinking milk anyway, so pppfffftttt.

I couldn't put a pic from my phone but I'm 1 year 5 months out from DS. I started at 314, now weigh 159, 5' 8" and I'm 5 months Prego! I still stick to the "basics" pretty much. I have added more carbs since being Prego as I was losing weight but my body likes a pretty low carb diet. I eat mostly steak and wild game, salads, veggies, and did i mention meat! dairy doesnt bother me. too much flour causes gas. My life has changed soo much for the good. My advice is stay strict. I pretty much met goal in 1 year. I also started swimming at 4 or 5 months out, pretty much 5 days a week. I reccomend finding an excersise you like, it helps tone and drop the inches plus its good for heart and body, and you will lose muscle mass with this surgery. There is lots of vets who are very helpful. Listen to them they know! Good luck, and congrats! I like to remind myself of this" what you put in, is what you will get out"

My infamous before and 1 year "Catsuit" pictures are on another hard drive, and I've been promising to get them transferred, but haven't yet.  I think I'll be able to do it this month, though.

For now, please take my word for it and check the ticker!

I lost 200 pounds the first year, down from 397 on surgery day, The rest came off a little at a time, and I have to work to keep it from going any lower pre-plastics.  Lotsa loose skin, especially my lower body.  I was an extreme pear shape.  Still pear shape, but not so extreme!  I know the skin reduction will change my proportiions, though!

I've had the DS done 10 months ago (29th December 2011) - and I have lost 149.2lbs so far, and life is great!!

You can check out my profile, I have a few before/after pics on there
