You're doing great, Danni, and I totally understand your need to be more active and hands-on in your career. Wishing you all the best and good luck.

Danni, you are doing great and altho going back to school can be a scary proposition, it will be worth it.

Congrats, Danni!  You are doing great.  Just so you know it can be done, I returned to school full time about 4 years post op.  I worked full time and went to school full time for 13 months to finally finish my degree.  It was tough, but having the DS and being healthy gave me the energy to get through it.  And, I graduated summ *** laude!  You can do it!

Best wishes,
Sharon

Congratulations on your 100 pounds Danni!  I am scheduled to have my DS surgery on Thursday 10/18/12. Im currently a RN and I love what I do but I know I will be even more awesome after the weight lose because nursing does require alot! There are so many things that I shy away from because of my weight but when I lose the the weight I plan to transfer to the ER (very fast paced!!!).  You will be fine. Nursing is a second career for me also. I used to have a government desk job as well, lol. Anyway, the best unsolicited advice I can give you is to dedicate several hours a week to studying. Nursing school is a job in itself and should be treated as such, lol. Its not as hard as people make it out to be but you do need a good memory. I recommend getting the HESI RN exam study guide and the Saunders RN exam study book. I also used 3500 questions for the RN comprehensive exam. But the HESI study book was the most helpful for passing the test.  There will probably be days that you will want to pull your hair out. Not because its so hard but nursing school is a bunch of busy work and alot of things you wont even use in the real world but you need to know...just in case, lol.  Good luck to you and keep me posted on your progress.

thanks for the info! very helpful! the school i am going into has a 100% pass for the tests, can you believe that! it must mean they really do their job. i will still pick up these books because i love reading on information like that... like an addiction for it!

Very nice report and your pics look amazing.  Admire those who, unlike me, don't faint at the sight of blood or needles.  You'll be a great nurse.
