10 months post op w/pic & update!
So here I am! I hit 159 2 wks ago but then bounced up a pound (only 3rd time EVER have I actually not lost) and now I am back to 159. A new decade woo hoo! I haven’t done any serious working out, just am more active. Doing softball, tons of yard work, cleaning like a mad woman, and soon will be hiking nonstop for a solid week and half. My endurance and energy is 10X better than fat me and my overall happiness has increased as well. I had my first follow up since my complications with my surgeon and he was very pleased with my progress and enjoyed my detailed tracking. Hahaha yes I have a detailed vits regimen, tracking of weight loss, tracking of inches lost, and every 3 months of extensive labs. He was very pleased to look at all the info he acquired from me. He also said if everything stays this level, that I will be healthy enough to start trying to have children at 15-18 months post op.
I also decided to go back to school. Now that I can actually be on my feet again, I am dying at my desk job! I feel unfulfilled and very depressed at my job. I have a nice federal job but man do I hate it. I want to be hands on! I used to love being hands on in my other jobs, I am a bit of a busy body. I had a very had decision to make, either a registered dietitian or a registered nurse. I would have loved being and RD but I wouldn’t be able to work with DSer’s or a lot of bariatric pt’s. Which is one of the main reasons I would have loved to have been one. MT has a very low demand for dietitians and the pay is horrid. So to fight for a RD when I wouldn’t even get the patients I think I could help the most…it just didn’t seem worth it. So I decided to be an RN. I will be applying for school this spring and starting full time this summer! I am soooo scared and excited. I hope I don’t F this up! Wish me luck!
