Auntie Em’s Pumpkin Protein Shake

Mix in blender:

1 ½ scoops of vanilla protein powder (I use Champion)

6 ice cubes

1 splash vanilla almond milk

1/3 can pumpkin

Add spices to suit your taste:

1 Tbs Splenda brown sugar

1 Tbs cinnamon

½ Tbs clove

¼ Tbs ginger

This is by no means the end all be all, just my creative stab at “playing with my protein" today. Feel free to add your tweaks.  I would love to see your favorite recipes!

I did pretty well trying to replicate Starbucks pumpkin latte.

20oz blender bottle w/wire ball
6 oz of 1/2 & 1/2 (or 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream and 4 oz of water)
2 Tbsp canned pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 packets of Truvia sweetener
1 1/2 scoops Nectar vanilla protein powder
shake to mix and pour into a hug mug
pour hot brewed coffee over top and stir

"pumpkin pie spice" -  I wish I was that smart!  I dug out my old Betty Crocker cookbook to look up the spices in pumpkin pie to add to my concoction.

2 scoop strawberry protein powder (or whatever the label says for the serving of protein powder)
1/4 cup of pomagranate juice
3/4 cup of water
8-10 small frozen strawberries
5-6 ice cubes

Blend well.

This is my version of my favorite smoothie from smoothie king.

I'm really boring (a.k.a. lazy) so here is the extent of my "playing"

1 shaker bottle filled with ice
1 Keurig pod brewed over top
1/2 cup heavy cream (or more, depending on how white I want it)
2 scoops of vanilla or chocolate protein
1-2 pumps of Torani SF simple syrup

Add a few more ice-cubes and shake shake shake senora.

Drink. Sigh happily.

Yum.  Sounds good.  I'm not real "shake savy."  I don't want it to be really cold.  Could I just use an equal amount of almond milk and skip the ice cubes?

I would recommend trying hot.  Some protein shakes mix well with hot liquids. If you are cleared to drink milk, you could always add the pumpkin and protein to steamed milk or cream.  Throw in a little coffee and you have an instant pumpkin latte.
