Will this work?

I found out through trial and error that I cannot take my B-complex vitamin anymore because my B6 levels are crazy high, even with limiting it to 2 times a week.

My other B vitamins are lower end of normal and I still want to fuel them. So I searched online for a B-complex without B6 and found this:

Would this work?? Does anyone see a reason why they wouldn't?

They put this alo vera stuff that says helps absorb...kind weird. It is in capsules...I just need some people to take a peak ta this B-Complex link w/out B6

Danni, I don't even bother with a B complex...what is in my multi is plenty of some of them. I do supplement B9 & B12. Biotin (B7) only makes my chin hair grow...not the hair on my scalp.

I would price out those two (B9 &B12) separately and see what they cost.

SouthernLady,

I have taken Biotin on and off for years.  I'm taking the most I've ever taken after surgery.  My chin hairs are getting out of control!  So much so that I'm thinking of Vaniqua (or whatever it's called).  I did laser in 2004.  It's come back with a vengeance!  My hair is growing like crazy with this amount of Biotin.  I'm happy with that.  The chin hairs are well... Frustrating to say the least!  I did not think about the Biotin causing the hair growth.  I know excessive Aldosterone will cause it.  Thanks for that tidbit!

I don't think laser will work again because I have too many hairs that have turned gray (Argh!).

the only reason i want to try to keep my bcomplex is because the minute i stopped taking my Bcomplex because of my B6 all my other B vits dropped A LOT (except B12 and B1 because i take those sublingualy)

so i would like to see if i can balance it with taking out the problem child. just wondering if this pill is even good though... i am just not sure on that alo vera..

side note though...i have thought about taking them seperatly but would rather just stick with one pill if at all possible. ... yea i am not going to take any additional biotin...since i have PCOS i dont' need anymore chin hair... yikes!

My surgeon said that my PCOS would go away after the weight loss.  You are nearly at goal (but much younger than me).  Has it not gone away?  Have you had it checked?  You are doing great!

Aloe Vera soothes the digestive system.  I used it a few years ago just for that.  I'm sure it's more like a buffer on this Vit.

I have PCOS and while it has gotten much better, I still have it...and I am at goal. Most people think of PCOS as just a fertility issue but it is FAR more than that and affects you all your life...not just during child bearing years. It affects your heart.

Does PCOS change at menopause?

Yes and no. PCOS affects many systems in the body. So, many symptoms may persist even though ovarian function and hormone levels change as a woman nears menopause. For instance, excessive hair growth continues, and male-pattern baldness or thinning hair gets worse after menopause. Also, the risks of complications (health problems) from PCOS, such as heart attack, stroke, and diabetes, increase as a woman gets older.

Thanks...

My first labs are going to include all the stuff we used to do every 60 days (insulin, aldosterone etc).  I'm anxious to see the differences.

Well weight loss does have a 50/50 chance to improve PCOS, have even heard others say an even higher chance to get rid of it. Sadly though it does not garantee to lose it. My symptoms have decreased quite a bit. My chin hair is not rampid anymore (i can manage it pretty well but still pluck daily to keep it perfect), my 'happy trail' hair is still grows but is reduced and i wax it so you can't tell, my acne is gone though, i can't tell with periods because i take the depo shot and havn't had a period for awhile. i do sometimes get a breakthrough period but i can't really tell since i have the depo.

i dont' know what your PCOS is based off but most females its because of not enough estrogen... well mine is because i have to much androgen. my estrogen levels are fine. so there is no treatment for mine...per say. if i my estrogen was low they would have put me on hormones but since my androgen is high.. they don't have a medication to lower androgen. so my only hope was weight loss.

hope that makes sense. on the good side though it did decrease a lot. maybe more time will tell.

Mine is also because of the Androgen.  My estrogen is fine.  I took Spirolactone until about 3 months before surgery (my endo had me wean off of it).  It did make a difference with the new growth for chin hairs, not the old ones.  I am lucky and have naturally low blood pressure.  My Endo was concerned that with this surgery, it would drop my blood pressure too low.

I am having a lot of labs done in 3 weeks to see where I'm at with everything!  I truly can't hardly stand to wait!!!

I can understand wanting just one pill tho...makes sense but the biotin stuck out to me. Guess cause I know how I react to extra of that.
