Surgery Date is scheduled
ButterflyHOpe: It is Dr. Keshishian; I am the worst offender when it comes to typos and grammatical errors. I once mispelled Dr. Ungson's name and was taken to task on that one and rightly so!
Granted I was a virgin DS, I was not given protein in the hospital aside from a few sips of chicken broth once I was cleared for a clear liquid diet. That is all that I had in the hospital during my stay, once I was released I was cleared for the next phase but it more about staying hydrated than taking in protein.
To OP: There are some great RNY to DS vets still active on this board that I am sure will provide you with some great guidance.

Best advice I can give is to arm yourself with information. Read the info at DSFACTS.COM, vitalady.com. A google search of "weight loss surgery duodenal switch" will yield a number of other good sources for information.
Also, bring chapstick, baby wipes and premixed protein shakes to the hospital.
I had a lap DS on June 25 with Dr.Alverdy at U of C. and am down about 60 lbs. It took me a good 6 weeks to get back to work at my desk job.
Best wishes!
