YOUR FAVORITE PROTEIN SHAKES and PROTEIN IDEAS

 Hi,
After 5 years out, I am still battling with getting enough protein.  And sometimes, I just can't stomach the thought of traditional sources like meat or fish.

Could you tell me the names of the best protein shakes and any other protein dishes or foods that you enjoy and allow you to put protein first at every meal?

I'm sure there have been many posts on this, so a reference would be great too.

All thanks,

Mary

I like Greek yogurt. I add little blueberries and sweeten with Splenda or Truvia.

Here's my protein coffee directions:

1 - 20 oz blender bottle with wire ball
4 to 6 oz of 1/2 & 1/2 and water
1 to 1 1/2 scoops of Syntrax Nectar vanilla or JayRobb vanilla, a dash of cinnamon and an extra packet of Splenda or Truvia to taste
{shake} until blended
Pour into large mug
Add 9 to 10 oz of hot brewed coffee (decaf or reduced caffeine) or hot brewed chai tea from a tea bag not a mix
{stir}

Add hot liquid to cold liquid to avoid lumps. Keep the protein slurry below 160 degrees.

I gag at the taste of most protein drinks so this will be helpful for me too.  The two I found that I really enjoy are Click Mocha and Adkins Mocha Latte.  Obviously I like the coffee flavored ones.  Click Mocha is by far my favorite.  I mix it in my individual serving blender with a tiny bit of crushed ice and about 8 oz. of water.  It's super easy.  Both are 15 grams of protein.  There are some out there with higher protein but I just can't stomach them.

I got some samples from our health food store and am attempting to try them again so I'll post if any are really good.  So far I've found that adding a chocolate one to iced coffee is pretty good.  The coffee flavor covers up any protein drink flavor.

Anywho, good luck!

I am only one week post op and am having the same problem.  I had heard from someone that there is a flavorless protein powder that I was hoping to add to a soup.  Do you or anyone else out there know about what this product is or if it even exists?
