BMI below 50!

 I stepped on the scale today and was down 12lbs since the last time I stepped on it!!  It was a nice surprise especially being preop!  This officially puts me at a BMI of 49.9. Not much below 50 but it's a step in the right direction nonetheless.

Grats! Did you have your first appointment yet?

 Thanks!  And no, not yet. I've sent for my medical records from my previous PCP who started my preop labs, etc. and waiting for those and to see my new PCP now that I've moved. Besides that I'm unsure when I can have surgery. I'd have it tomorrow if I could. I'm certainly ready, but, I've just started my new job and don't get FMLA until after one year of employment. I do have an ample amount of vacation and sick time available and will actually be getting personal days as well. I'm thinking either late this year (just before the new year) or early next year.  The "what-ifs" are what keep me from being definite in my timing. The doc says that most of his patients go back to work in two weeks, but for the work that I do I think that may be a bit optimistic. Also, I've never had surgery before and have no idea how my body will react to anesthesia and having my guts rerouted. I definitely want to talk to ore folks, the doc included, about all of the above!

 Gotcha!  I think you and I will have our surgery around the same time.  Good luck and looking forward to your updates.
