I was thinking the same as teachmid: Dr. Stewart.  I am 99% confident he has a Center of Excellence, and I know he has one of (if not the) best self-pay rate in the US for a DS.  It will probably get you the lowest price to negotiate with the other place you are considering.

I believe methodist here in omaha ne is 32000 for self pay. Check the website MEthodist Bariatric.com for a number you could call and ask to get a price. They are a center of excellence too.

Funny you should mention your hospital's program; the last I heard, Dr. Anthone was the highest priced self-pay DS of any that I know of, at $40k.  I don't know of any that are higher than that.  If it has gone down to $32k, that would be welcome.

Sorry, I honestly don't meant to be snarky.  As a comparison, I think Dr. Stewart is around $23k.  However, if I recall correctly, that doesn't include removal of gallbladder, and I don't remember on appendix.  There are probably other things to ask about what is included in the price as well.

I was at a seminar 2 months ago and heard the price quoted to someone at my table. I was there with my dad but he is interesetd in the sleeve. That quote came from one of the nurses when someone asked for self-pay prices for the different procedures. The sleeve was 12,500 when I had it done and is now 17,000 so things have gone up. Pretty sure it was 32 grand for DS though. My mom just had DS 2 months ago with anthone and has dropped 60 pounds but recovery is a little rough right now. That is why I'm kind of following the DS forum a little to pick up tid bits here and there.

Certainly call to double check I could be wrong. They do take gallbladder out but leave appendix about 4-5 day hospital stay. He does an open DS procedure  FYI.
